Day 19: June 29, 2009

Day 19: Wow! We saw great improvements overnight and today. Last Friday, the neurosurgeon suggested doing a shunt this week if Travis' inter-cranial pressure (ICP) did not go down. Now, he feels it is not needed. Very little cerebral fluid had to be drained Sunday night and today. Yay! They did a range of motion test and his ICP stayed down during that too. Next step is to take him off the paralytic and see what his ICP does. The doctors are talking about surgery this week.
