Week 12: Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009

Day 84: For any of you that know Travis, you know he practically eats, breathes and sleeps hunting. Dove season is upon us and it's nagging at him. Tonight Travis asked me to pull out some of his guns, the oil rags, and the gun oil. When I handed him his side-by side 12 gauge, he grunted, "Man, that gun's heavy!" and laid it across his lap. He spent most the evening watching hunting videos and rubbing down his guns. Emily walked up behind me while I was doing dishes and said, "It's so awesome to see Dad cleaning his guns again." I agree. Those birds and guns motivate him. He will be out in the hills chasing them as soon as possible--Travis asked me to keep the 28 gauge in our room to "practice."
